1996 Carver 320 Voyager
BOAT OWNER'S NOTES:
This 1996 Carver Voyager is a solid, good looking traditional boat with the high quality engineering, design and construction that made Carver famous. |
Her twin 270 horse 350XL Crusader V-drives provide a 21mph cruise, a top speed of 30 with a 200+ mile cruise range from the 188 gallon fuel capacity.
Single handing is very easy given her kind and timely responsiveness.
We bought this boat in 1988 for long weekends and week long trips.
It has been a fine choice.
Entry is over the gunwale onto a moulded-in step, into the open 6x10 foot carpeted cockpit. or via the swim platform, with its built-in swim ladder and freshwater shower, then through the transom door.
Both 30 amp shore power plugs are accessible from the cockpit and the swim platform.
The fully enclosed bridge is up 5 easy steps and comfortably seats 6.
The Eisenglass panels roll or snap up for a wide open ride under the new bimini.
The helm has a single captain?s chair and contains all the engine instrumentation, controls, compass, depth/fish finder and a VHF radio.
Sightlines are outstanding.
The salon is through a large glass sliding door and down 3 steps from the cockpit.
The galley has a microwave, two-burner AC. electric stove, multiple drawers, cabinets and a full size AC/DC refrigerator with freezer.
The starboard settee hides additional storage and the 16,000BTU heat pump that will keep the cabin in the lower 70?s during a 90+ degree day or a 40 degree night.
The forward stateroom with its hanging locker and 6 additional cabinets sleeps two most comfortably.
The double bed quarter-berth with its own hanging locker is also quite comfortable and quiet.
The port settee seats 4-5 easily and also pulls out into a double bed.
Carver identifies ?comfortable sleeping areas for 9 people?.
Our experience has been that a family with 2 to 3 kids or two adult couples can comfortably spend a week on this boat. (Three adult couples would have to be good friends.)
The head has a vanity, electric, macerator toilet and a standup shower with a divider that keeps the vanity dry.
The fresh water system has a 39 gal storage tank with a deck fill fitting and a ?dockside fitting? for hooking up to marina water when available.
A separate electric water heater is installed but seldom needed because the hot water line passes through a heat exchanger on the port engine.
The waste water system has a 20 gal. tank with a deck level pump-out fitting and safety locked overboard capability.
Maintenance is up to date with a complete tune up, new manifolds and risers, water pumps and bimini within the last 20 hours.
Oil and filters have been changed every 50 hous or less for its entire life.
The original manufacturer?s documentation and all maintenance records are included.
She has always been stored in fresh water and run in salt water.
The fenders, docklines, extra anchor etc. of course are included.
