Thanks for your interest in my vessel, this boat was the Captains Gig
on an aircraft carrier based in Subic Bay in the South China sea
during the Vietnam war.
I purchased it in 1991 as a salvaged vessel
and have re-fitted her with modern systems.
The fiberglass hull was
used by both the navy and the coast guard and has been used in many
different configurations from river boats to transports for personal.
It's military designation was PE33 Or 33 foot personnel boat.
The
forward cabin is large and is made to sit 20 men with full gear
sitting on opposing benches facing each other.
The rear cabin, "which
I removed and installed a cockpit deck", held 12 men in the same
configuration, that still left room for 6 or more people in the helm
and a gunner on the bow.
The boat had a 20 mm cannon mounted on the
bow, they took that off, crazy.
The engine is a Detroit 671 with a
turbo charger on it and was re-build 185 hours ago.
The engine runs
great, the transmission is a Alison 21 heavy gear, the shaft is 2" and
the prop is brand new, 4 blade and balanced.
She will top out at 15kts
and wants to run all day long at 1800 RPM at 12.5 kts.
The seas part
for this boat and it is very steady.
I used it to fish off for years
and then dive charter.
It can hold 1 ton on the dive platform making
it a great salvage or dive boat.
She is about 18000 lbs so you can
install a large davit pole if necessary.
She is a deep water boat and
I have been in heavy seas in a full Gale in her and she was fine.
She
is a great buy for the right person, if your handy you can do so much
to her to make the boat you want.
Just the hatches on this boat cost
me 3,000.00 dollars.
Come see her no cover charge.
Boat is in Exeter
NH and is in running condition. last surveyed in 2003 and valued at
50,000.00
