| | | | The prototype of this yacht was designed by Charles Morgan in the early 60's as a custom yacht for yachtsman James B.
Turner, for whom Morgan designed the 72' "Big Toy".
The design was modeled after Morgan's renowned SORC-winning 40' ocean racing yawl, "Paper Tiger".
The design of the "Cubs" was intended to yield a shoal draft, keel-centerboard yacht that would be ideal for racing, under CCA rating rules and for cruising in shallow waters. "GINGER" won over 100 trophies during in the 60's.
She has been cruised on both sides of Florida as well as in the Bahamas.
My wife and I lived aboard for 6 months one time while cruising the Florida Keys!
She now carries 4 sails, 3 winches, a deep icebox, a sink, 2 burner alcohol stove, and has an enclosed head space.
She is VERY COLLECTIBLE as she is one of only 5 made.
I am the fourth owner.
I am not sure how many others are left. "Ginger" has had both an Atomic gas engine and later had a Yanmar Diesel, 18 HP.
