Phoenix is basically a Bertram Hybrid (a bunch of guys left Bertram to start Phoenix), and it processes similar superb sea-keeping abilities, but due to a lower more efficient shaft angle and prop pockets, swings 18” props (instead of the usual 14”s).

The net result is a cockpit bigger than boats of much larger size (the engines are below deck, no engine boxes), and those big props offer SUPER fuel economy! (Phoenix markets their boats on this reputation) in addition to tons of torque and top end speed when you need it.

This 29’ Phoenix is a rock solid hull with NO ISSUES WHAT-SO-EVER! (Surveyed three times).Manufactured in November of ’77; it was delivered in ’78 It has now been re-fitted with BRAND NEW MOTORS! (they cost $8,500ea!) and have just 35-40 hours break-in on them.

There’s new fresh water manifolds, new exhausts, hoses, mufflers, etc., re-built transmissions (by the top guy around here). and re-built Marine carburetors (another top guy around here).

Of particular note is the decision to re-motor using the Chrysler Marine 360cu/in engines.

These motors are FAMOUS throughout the world for their dependable, long-lived durability, and ability to RAISE THE FISH!

The vibration they produce is virtually a fish magnet, and I have personally been able to lean over the rails and practically pet fish on MANY occasions. “Sun-Down” sound insulation virtually eliminates ALL engine noise (REALLY, it’s like grandmothers’ in the other room with a sewing machine, even in the cabin!) Dual battery banks with voltage separators, all new wiring, and a LARGE solar panel to top of the batteries, and an additional 50gal auxiliary tank for extra range in addition to the standard dual 85gal saddle tanks.

The completely re-furbished cabin is very nicely done, with nothing remotely dated about it.

ALL NEW carpeting and upholstery in subtle Dove Grey and Mist Blue, with Medium Beige curtains and tasseled draws.

All the cabinets and drawers were re-faced in pure white and stainless hardware.

Added was extensive joiner-work, for a rich feel, and the cabins just HUGE for a craft this size (sleeps 6 with elbow room and comfort).

It also has its own dedicated marine radio (with separate antenna), and a quad stereo system.

Drawers and cabinets abound for ample storage, and as well a hidden “secret” lockable cabinet for discreet storage of valuables.

The galley has an approved DUAL-TANK Propane Stove, hot coffee and eggs with bacon QUICK in the morning, no waiting!

And it can quickly warm the cabin if you’re not underway.

When underway a 40,000 BTU hot water heater keeps the cabin warm and dry, and there’s an outlet to the cockpit to take the chill out of a fog!

The brand new refrigerator/freezer is virtually UNUSED, and utterly SPOTLESS!

The convenient condiment shelves amply accommodate everything you might require as a gourmand and the under sink cabinet accommodates all your cleaning needs.

The 60gal fresh water tank supplies plenty of both hot and cold fresh water.

In the head there’s a full size (Plexiglas) mirror over the sink and a full length (Plexiglas) mirror on the door (for the ladies), and a hot water shower.

The very ample vanity has plenty of shelving above, and the cabinets below serve quite well as large secure liquor or storage lockers.

The head itself has both a holding tank, or direct external flushing, and is electrically operated.

Completely fishing ready, there are DUAL halyard stations on each of the 19’ single spreader riggers, and also three rabbit ear shot gun riggers on the tower.

All the rigger halyards are equipped with the very finest roller bearing “Knock-out” release clips and have no-creep “Hal-Lock” halyard tensioners.

There are SEVEN 130# Class swivel rod holders in the teak and mahogany trimmed cockpit rails, a new cockpit coaming bolster, and fold-out sun awning.

There’s a three-over-two Gin Pole hoist (for the big boys), which can also be operated by the capstan windlass, leaving a free set of hands to boat the fish.

A “Lee Miami” #130 Class fighting chair with adjustable footrest significantly aids in the anglers comfort, and ability to control the fish during the fight.

A “Keep-Alive” Insulated Bait Well with “Keep-Alive” Aerator has dual raw water feeds, and guarantees your baits to be in top condition.

Additionally a pressurized Pure Oxygen Tank Aerator injection system (with regulator) dramatically livens up the baits just before you deploy them, so that they literally” go nuts” when you toss them in, sending distress vibrations in every direction and to the attention of any fish even remotely near the boat.

A fold-up and out-of the-way, fold-down, 0R…. easily removed/installed TUNA PULPIT (takes one man seven minutes) offers superior long distance casting onto schools without spooking the fish, confidence when fishing near ledges, or for darting.

It has rail braces midway offering complete support of the bracing cables for a secure handrail along the entire pulpit boom and has no “wiggle”.

The pulpit boom itself is wide and gently curved with non-skid the entire length for safe-and-sure footing.

This is a favorite spot among younger anglers and you’ll have to talk them off to get your shot!

There are two spot flood lights off the forward end under the basket foot platform to assist in spotting lobster pots or obstructions ahead while underway.

The bridge sports full electronics (color) its own quad stereo, and a full enclosure with dual zip-out windows on EACH panel, front, port, and starboard, and a back curtain with zip-out door.

The main bench seat folds up for generous storage of life preservers or other gear, and there’s ample room behind for a large cooler if desired.

Additional storage can be found in the three large storage compartments under the instrument console along the front of the bridge.

The stainless steering wheel has an “Edson Suicide Knob” for convenient and comfortable steering.

The “Tuna Tower” has laddered legs (all four) and floods off each leg.

The observation seat is comfortable contoured vinyl plastic with a non-skid surface for secure seating, and the tower deck is non-skid as well.

A binocular box secures the binoculars when not in use, and a “Riche” compass allows concise calling out of waypoints ahead.

A stainless steel binnacle drink holder keeps beverages under control.

Bow and stern facing deck floods illuminate the decks below.

Three “rabbit ear” shotgun riggers are mounted at the deck of the tower, and extend up, out, and away for superior presentation of your staggered long baits.

Their halyards are clipped along the coaming of the cabin roof in the cockpit within very easy reach.

The fore deck at the bow has a lock down bracket for a Danforth style anchor, and just ahead, the anchor pulpit is constructed to easily clear the tuna tower main bracing leg when the pulpit is deployed.

The anchor pulpit is designed for a 48lb (CQR) swivel shank plow anchor (Retail for the (CQR) is $999.00) and comes with the boat.

A stainless lock down anchor chain tensioner secures your chain, and a stainless hinged rope and chain deck pipe to the anchor locker below has a lock open-in-place top cap.

Conveniently located handles on the port and starboard cabin coaming relieve the awkward moment when transitioning from the sides along the cabin and then up and onto the foredeck in rough water.

The fold-up, fold-down windshield offers sunsets galore from the cabins interior, and when down, protection from the sun or rough seas.

Two rail mounted fishing rod holders along the port and starboard rails are within convenient reach of the cabins visor, which doubles as a VERY comfortable place to sit.

There’s a list of extras and additional features to lengthy to post, shore cords, fenders, docking lines, kitchen ware (new and unused) etc. completing a fully done craft, with virtually nothing to buy.
