| | | | Basic Decription: This is a restored classic mahogany 1957 Shepherd 16
foot Ski Bee model manufactured at Niagara on the Lake in Ontario
Canada.
I was told by an appraisal company, who was soliciting their
services, that they would consider her a "mint" condition vessel.
This
is an inboard runabout model which means the engine is tucked neatly
under a hatch and not under a "dog house" looking box in the middle of
the boat.
Her restoration has been recently completed which included
but not limited to replanking of both innner and outter planks below
the water line.
Thats means the new marine plywood interior planks
were coated in Smith's CPES then covered with new outter Philipean
mahogany planks, all embedded in 3M5200 for a desireable "no soak"
bottom.
Secured with silicon bronze fasteners and painted with Petit
Hard Racing Bronze bottom paint outside and new gray bilge paint
inside.
Epifanes varnish covers everything including the new dash
board, deck boards, spray rails and mahogany plywood transom.
The
interior was treated to a new white Bimini top, windshield, dash
board, tach cable, carpeting and completely new seat frames and
upholstery.
Before I forget to mention I have to say that she is being
sold with the trailer that has a new 2" ball hitch, plastic fenders,
wireslights, winch, bearing buddies, wheels and tires.
Both the boat
and trailer have been stored indoors since I have owned them.
The
inboard 65 HP Universal Unimite Four- 4 cylinder engine has recently
been tuned by a local mechanic.
Since the engine is the same as a
Chris Craft model B it currently sports that models exhaust manifold,
a machined head, valve wadjustments and new head gasket.
A rebuilt
Zenith updraft carb is fed by an electric fuel pump for reliability.
To add to its reliability, and speed the engines starting, an
electronic ignition with matching coil and wires were installed.
The
fuel tank was cleaned, sealed and tested with new fuel lines.
A list
of new parts installed during its restoration also includes blower,
bilge pump, 12 volt alternator, stainless choke cable, oil pressure
gauge tubing, vintage alternator gauge, throttle cable, water cooled
stuffing box, dash switches, rebuilt V drive, rebuilt water
pumpimpellor, stainless prop shaft, greaseable drag link steering
components, deck horns, custom Shepherd pennant, and new vintage
ensign
