Boat is located in Buffalo, New York.
See http://www.boatsforsalebyowners.net/99106
for complete details.
Beautiful, well-maintained, and enhanced wherever possible, this
Large Tri-cabin layout, Tall rig 2 to regular mast height, Allmand sloop, that can
be rigged as a cutter, is a steal.
Originally Tim Allmands personal boat, it is
particularly well-apportioned and has aesthetic touches not seen in any but the most
expensive yachts.
The interior has the roominess of a 40 yacht.
It is virtually all
solid teak, including 3 6-panel doors, beautiful solid teak parquet floor
throughout, teak side paneling, shelves, bulkheads and cabinets see pictures.
Throughout the boat there are 7 opening screened ports, and on each side a large
Plexiglas window.
The very roomy main cabin has a large U-shaped dining area that,
with the settee, can seat up to 8 and sleeps 3.
The kitchenette has a four burner
stove, oven, working refrigerator which can make ice, and loads of space for storing
and preparing food.
The roomy quarter-berth and V-berths, both with 6 thick memory
foam double beds, afford total privacy from the large main cabin.
Each sleeping area
has a screened hatch, at least one opening screened port and 1 hanging locker.
The
very roomy cockpit has a dodger and attachable Bimini, usable under sail, and heavy
vinyl and mosquito netting side curtains that totally enclose the cockpit, making it
a separate living space while at anchor.
The exterior has been maintained with
yearly waxing, shrink-wrapped winter storage, all woodwork varnished, bottom
painting, and non-skid repainted.
Sail with your choice of 2 main sails, 2 jibs 150
and 120 and a full spinnaker, and handle your sails with 2 self-tailing Barlow 25
winches, 4 Barlow 16 winches, 1 Barlow 16 on the mast for the main halyard, Harken
Mark III roller furling Genoa, and a Harken self-tending mainsheet traveler.
Cockpit
instruments include depth sounder, knot meterlog, Autohelm 3000, new VHF radio and
new GPS.
We bought this boat in 1991, after our third child was born, because its
spaciousness, comfort and safeness accommodated self-sufficient sailing, cruising,
and often anchoring in the open waters of Lake Erie.
It was raced in the BHSC.
In
addition to all of the provisions and variety of items required to keep a family of
five content, we carried three inflatable kayaks with paddles and folding bicycles
for when docked.
We have safely albeit unintentionally sailed in heavy weather with
up to 50 kt. gusts.
It is an extremely comfortable, dry, seaworthy craft that sails
well because of the tall mast 2 and rigging.
