Designed by Martie Wells, Catalina Ski Racing Champion from SoCal, and built for offshore Catalina ski-racing in Formula 1 class.
This is hull 4 out of a total of 6 produced, and is rigged as a very fast river and lake pleasure craft -- over 90 mph on GPS speedometer on pump gas.
ENGINE Blue-printed, fuel injected, centrifugal supercharged 583 hp @ 10 lbs on 383 cu in GM small block with the best of everything Pro-Charger blower, 4 bolt mains, Callies crank, Eagle rods, JE pistons, Crane cam and valve train, Brodix heads, MSD ignition, and Holley ECU.
Engine built by Reggie Jackson High Performance yes, the famous ball player's shop to endurance standards.
ENGINE ENHANCEMENTS CMI polished headers w/cooling collars, Gil electric switchable mufflers, dual Optima AGM batteries, oil cooler, engine pre-luber, engine flushing system, full gauge package including EGT, triple redundancy air/fuel gauges, tunable knock sensor, and unused programmed spare ECU.
PROPULSION Mercury Racing Blackhawk twin-prop IO surfacing drive w 3 sets of props 27, 29, 31 with Bravo One Heavy Duty rebuild kit installed, and fresh water cooler.
CONTROL FEATURES foot throttle control, IMCO hydraulic twin steering, 3 button hydraulic trim on wheel, Dana long planes, forward 40 gallon water ballast tank for rough water, 70 gallon gas tank for extended range, and unique tail anti-spray assembly for launch control and deflection of spray see pics.
COCKPIT FEATURES custom wind deflectors, fore/aft adjustable driver bucket seat, reversible spotter bucket, full width bench for 4 guests, and radio w anti-skip CD player and 4 speakers.
SAFETY All Coast Guard safety equipment is included, as well as on-board automatic fire suppression system, automatic bilge pump, automatic extendable navigation lights, surface mounted retractable cleats, and pop-up mooring tie-down buttons 2 anchors, misc. ski equipment, Maha Longboard, Maha Classic, Graphite ski.
RIGGING Rigged by Seaton Marine in Discovery Bay and maintained by Marine Unlimited in Santa Rosa.
HISTORY Over 100,000 was invested in this boat's development over the first 5 years.
At the time of production, no marine engine builder had a fuel injected supercharged marine motor.
Our goal was to be the first.
While we didn’t quite make that goal, we were successful in developing a very strong reliable package.
As evidence, all build and parts records since new, including gas, are included Hull formed in April 1996 Initial water test in August 1996 Fuel injection design and development from 1997 to 2001 Current motor installed in Feb 2001 with small Procharger at 80 hours Current self lubing Procharger installed in April 2007 at 210 hours Current Blackhawk upgraded with Bravo One Heavy Duty kit in Sep 2009 at 295 hours Currently only 350 hours.
VALUATION Based on an initial survey of 43,000 in 2009, the present valuation is 36,000.
