Wise Child is a classic example of the compact ocean racers built for the SORC in the late 1970s. Designed by Craig Walters, a veteran SparkmanandStephens architect, Wise Child placed in the 1983 Sydney-Hobart race. Subsequently rigged for solo offshore cruising, shes a head-turning, quick and comfortable ride to wherever you want to go. Trusty, recently overhauled Yanmar 3GM30. Running rigging, electronics, plumbing are new, between 2016-2020. Raymarine instruments — under deck autopilot, course computer, Axiom MFD, Vesper 8000 AIS, ICom VHF, Fusion stereo, etc. Seafrost fridge, Force 10 stoveoven. Showerpressure water in head. This is one versatile boat. Lighten the load down below and youll be faster than most around the buoys add a few creature comforts, and shes a great coastal cruiser for 2-4. Excellent structural condition, and fastidiously maintained. Solid glass hull with three solid stringers on each side for stiffness. A wonderful find.
